Closeup throw By now John Entwistle’s art on the cover of The Who By Numbers is well known.  We have featured this timeless art in the form of a collectable tankard set and on an etched marble plaque.  Anyone who owns either of these collectables will tell you that the quality would meet the discerning taste of John Entwistle himself.  October 18th, 2005 was the 30th anniversary of the release of the album’s music wrapped in this legendary cover.  We are proud to offer this artwork in yet another beautiful collector’s piece.  John’s art is woven into a gorgeous 4'x 4' 100% cotton throw.  The image is not screened, painted or otherwise applied.  You can see the quality from the sample pictures. So Who's the Bass Player?
The"unknown fan" credited with the cover painting of Anthology was eventually identified as Robert Campbell (at campbellcreativegroup.com). Robert presented the painting to John as a birthday present at the Hard Rock Café. The painting was reproduced without recognition because Robert's signature was indecipherable! Thanks to Robert for this great painting of John.

Yoichi Maezawa (Ex President of The Who Fan Club Japan) interviewed Steve Luongo about his experiences with John. Read the interview here.

IAN BRUSBY Ian Brusby on “Halfway Back From Anywhere”:
“The album consists of 11 tracks, the first 8 were recorded at home and the last 3 are recordings from 1994 that I wanted to include as they feature guitar virtuoso Gordon Giltrap and “The Who” bassist John Entwistle.”

John, House of Blues, Los Angeles, July 28, 1999
Rather than rest on his past triumphs with The Who, John Entwistle loved any chance to get out and play. He liked to get close to his audience in an intimate atmosphere “so they can see what I’m doing.” His love of playing live saw him perform in every situation imaginable. Everyone agrees that seeing John Entwistle perform live, whether at Madison Square Garden or a local pub, was to see a spontaneous display of musical genius.
